Shaheen is the Chief Executive Officer of FreshBooks, leading its mission to simplify the challenges of running a business for small business owners and accountants alike. With over 25+ years of leadership experience as an entrepreneur and CEO, Shaheen has a proven track record of driving growth and innovation across industries. He is passionate about creating tools that empower business owners to focus on what they do best – growing their business. Outside work, Shaheen is an active mentor who also enjoys fishing, skiing, and spending time with his wife Blanca, and their twin sons.

As Chief Operating Officer, Mara leads with a customer-centric vision and a deep understanding of small businesses. Holding an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and Chemical Engineering and an MBA, Mara’s background and extensive leadership tenure at FreshBooks, having served as Interim CEO, Chief Customer Officer, and Chief Data Officer, bring a powerful blend of data-driven insights, technical expertise, and operational excellence. As one of IBM’s Global Women Leaders in AI and drawing on her experience as a telecommunications executive, Mara is passionate about using technology to empower entrepreneurs. Outside the office, Mara is at her happiest in a canoe at the lake with her family.

Faye has spent her career building brands and businesses across accounting, logistics, and technology. She brings a track record of successfully scaling businesses from the ground up through a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. A passionate champion of diversity and inclusion, Faye has led and sponsored employee resource groups, hiring best practices, and other initiatives to create environments that allow their employees to thrive. Outside of work, Faye enjoys exploring Toronto’s best restaurants and playgrounds with her family. 

Mike is the co-founder of FreshBooks, the #1 accounting software in the cloud, designed exclusively for freelancers and growing service-based business owners. Built-in 2003 after he accidentally saved over an invoice, Mike spent 3.5 years growing FreshBooks from his parents’ basement. Since then, over 30 million people have used FreshBooks to save time billing, and collect billions of dollars. A lover of the outdoors, Mike has been bitten so many times it’s rumored he’s the first human to have developed immunity to mosquitoes.
